Minn Kota’s new Terrova trolling motor took home Best of Show honors in the Boating Accessory category at the 49th annual International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) show held in Las Vegas, July 19-21. The New Products Showcase competition drew 600 tackle and accessories entries. Entries were judged by buyers and media representatives based on innovation, execution, workmanship and practicality.

“To be recognized by media representatives and industry buyers is a tremendous honor and confirms our excitement about this motor,” Minn Kota Brand Manager Joe Brown said. “This is by far the most advanced bow-mount trolling motor we have ever manufactured. Its development is a direct result of extensive consumer research and input from avid anglers to better understand how they fish with our products.”

Terrova showcases a breakthrough stow and deploy mechanism featuring fallaway ramps that effortlessly deploy the motor into the water along with a balanced motor design that greatly reduces stowing effort. The innovative electric steering platform for Terrova has been engineered to provide incredibly responsive and precise steering, with resolution of less than one degree. An all-new ergonomically designed corded foot pedal comes standard with Terrova. Its low-profile design puts less strain on the foot and ankle, and offers anglers the best of both worlds in steering options – heel-to-toe or left/right steer buttons.

Offered in 55-lb (12 volt), 80-lb (24 volt) and 101-lb (36 volt) thrust levels, with optional AutoPilot and Universal Sonar 2, Terrova will be available to consumers beginning in October of 2006. Depending on thrust level, shaft length and optional feature selection, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for Terrova ranges from $669.99 to $1,439.99.
